@philthespoon and @sophiagraham23 held a beautiful local festival over half term at @arwenwoodcollective which was a huge sell out success.
They and a team of volunteers made £2,300 profit that they have in turn donated to Planting the Seeds so we can pass this on to the non-profits we’ve been supporting for the past eleven months.
This huge amount of money will be split between Watermelon Sisters, Ele Elna Elak and PCRF.
We are beyond grateful for this incredibly kind donation.
It’s inspired us to plan more community events this summer so look out for something coming next month.

78 years of Nakba (النَّكْبَة,‘the catastrophe’)
Each year on May 15th, Palestinians and their allies come together to commemorate the Nakba — a day that honours memory, resilience, and an enduring connection to homeland. Yet, the story of the Nakba did not begin on that date alone. By the time May 15th arrived in 1948, more than half of the Indigenous Palestinian population had already been forcibly displaced from their homes. Families were uprooted, communities erased, and lives forever altered through waves of violence and expulsion carried out by Zionist paramilitary groups.
For many, the Nakba is not only a moment in history but a lived and ongoing reality — a collective memory carried across generations, rooted in loss, but also in steadfast hope and identity. To remember is to honour those who endured, and to stand in solidarity with a people whose right to dignity, return, and self-determination remains deeply felt today.
