Artist Profile: Faye Allison

Influenced by the 1960s British Pop Artist Pauline Boty and the ethereal allure of the Pre-Raphaelites, Faye's art is a fusion of past and present, tradition and modern pallettes. She studied Fashion Illustration at UCA and spent several years in London, absorbing the night life and culture.

More recently she has been honing her skills painting in oils and playing with decoupage from vintage books and magazines.

Portraiture has been a steady passion throughout her life, and celebrating the feminine form. In recent years she has enjoyed interpreting pop culture in her work - flirting with glamour and kitsch; exploring tropes and symbols of femininity.

She has recently started to think about historical female protaganists and their often problematic political place in the patriarchy. Inspired by the theatrical demonstrations by Fossil Free London and content shared and compiled by @chappellruin on Instagram - Faye produced a painting with a heavy Anti Capitalist message and donated 50% of the sale to PTS with a Limited Edition run of Fine Art Prints to also generate donations to the charity.
